Answers /Process & timeline
How long does a tenant improvement take?
It depends on scope and permitting, and a realistic schedule comes from the estimating team after they review the project — not from a general rule.
The construction itself is often not the longest part. Design, engineering coordination and permit approval can run longer than the build, and the timeline depends on the jurisdiction as much as the work.
What moves a schedule most: whether drawings are already complete, whether the space needs structural or mechanical changes, and how quickly the local building department turns around approvals.
Wilson handles permit processing and approvals as part of the project, so that coordination is not left to you.
